As Kagome walked up the stairs , she thought about the fight she and Inu Yasha had earlier . How the whole thing started ; after finding the second-last Shikon no Tama shard.
*Inu Yasha still hasn't figured out who he loves more, me or Kikyo* Kagome thought to herself sadly, as she walked to ward her bedroom door . S he noticed it was slightly ajar . She stopped, shock plain on her face. Hadn't she closed the door before she left like she always did? Yes she was sure she had….so what was in her room…
Kagome decided to use her miko powers to see if she could sense anything. She did.
"Sit", Kagome whispered quietly with a smile of mischief on her face, before opening the door. She giggled a bit seeing Inu Yasha laying face first on her bed.

"Mmmfffmmmmffff”, Kagome heard a muffled voice talking into the bed spread. "Hmmmmm ? " Kagome asked.
“ I said , What did you do that for?!" an angry Inu Yasha asked as he half raised himself from the bed and fell back again.
After another 2 tries at getting up, he succeeded and went to sit cross-legged on the floor watching while Kagome unpacked her bag.

"Why did you follow me back Inu Yasha?" Kagome asked, her voice full of curiosity, as she unpacked some things from her bag. "I....um mm....I-I wanted to make sure you got back safe and that all you where really here to do was study for those 'tests' you're always talking about" Inu Yasha retorted, although Kagome could see a faint pink creep onto his cheeks. "Well....to tell you the truth I didn't come back to study ...I came back to-" Kagome was cut off on her explanation as Inu Yasha exclaimed , "I KNEW IT...YOU ' R E HERE TO SEE THAT HOBO GUY!! I CAN'T BELIVE TH IS...WE'RE SUPPOSE TO SEARCHING FOR THE SHIKON NO TAMA!!!"

Chapter two

" I KNO W THAT INU YASHA!!!," Kagome yelled at him, resisting every urge to 'SIT' him again.
" HIS NAME IS HOJO , AND I WAS NOT COMING BACK HERE TO SEE HIM!" Kagome snapped at him.
"Feh! Yeah right ” Inu Yasha mumbled,”T hen why are you so anxious to go back to school? 'Hojo' goes to your school doesn't he ?" Inu Yasha asked, a growl starting deep in his throat, but was cut off by the ‘ do-not-try-that-with-me-or-else ' look she gives him before usually 'sitting' him.
Kagome was not liking the fact that she had to tell the hanyou over and over again that she did not like Hojo, and decided to ask a question that she was a bit nervous about , "Inu Yasha....what do I have to do to prove to you that I don't like Hojo ; Even if I have told you many times before . ”
Inu Yasha looked at her for a moment, not really sure what he should do or ask. Then it came to him, * I know! I'll just ask her who she does like and see if she feels the same way about me as I feel for her * Inu Yasha thought.

“Okay tell me this , if you don't like Hojo then tell me who you do like . A nd no lying. I can tell" Inu Yasha said, pointing t o his demon ears.
Kagome looked at him for a minute , seriously thinking and knowing full well that Inu Yasha could hear her heart pick up pace.
Kagome finally answered, although her voice was so quiet that Inu Yasha could hardly hear her-even with his dog demon ears!
"I...I like you....Inu Yasha"

Chapter three

Inu Yasha froze, *did Kagome just say that she liked me? I hope I heard her right, but I should make sure...just in case*
"Wh...what did you say?" Inu Yasha asked barely able to breathe.
" I said I like you Inu Yasha" Kagome said again, a bit louder.
"Oh Kagome!" Inu Yasha pulled her into a hug and whispered in her ear,
" I feel the same way"
Inu Yasha was truly thankful that they were here in her time and not back in his , where Miroku, Shippou and Sango could her them.
"Really?" Kagome asked.
" Yes. In fact I love you. I love you more then I ever loved Kikyo " Inu Yasha said before the miko could say anything on the subject.
"Really? Well then, on that note I think that we should si-I mean go to my room and chill" The look Inu Yasha made when he thought she was going to 'sit' him made her giggle.

Kagome was scratching Inu Yasha's demon ears, while they lay on her bed talking. He was purring and she felt relaxed. "So, Inu Yasha...we going to go back to your time , or staying here tonight?" Kagome asked, hoping that he would say to stay in her time for the night.

"Well, I was thinking that we should stay here, I like being able to talk to you with out worrying weather or not Miroku, Shippo and Sango are listening to what we are saying."
"Good point, so what are we going to do when we go back? Are we going to tell them or just hid e it?" Kagome asked.
" Well, I was thinking that if I don ' t go back tonight, Miroku and Sango will probably figure out tomorrow that we are in love, and I spent the night here "
"So..." Kagome said hesitating, half knowing what he was about to say. “So ,” he said ”I was think that I'd stay another hour or so and then go back to … well … keep up ‘ appearances ', I guess we could call it. Then tomorrow when you come back too, we could either pretend we don't love each other or just let our feelings show."
"Well, I think we should both go back tonight and let them figure it out for themselves. Miroku and Sango are not stupid they'll figure it out anyway in no time . B ut we shouldn't say anything, just act the way we want to act . And by the look on your face I'd take that as a ‘show-them-we-love-each-other' kinda look. Let me just re-pack my bag and we can go." Kagome said with a tone that meant if you don ' t agree then I will ‘sit' you.

Miroku and Sango were also taking advantage of no one being around . Kaede was helping a midwife and Shippo was playing with Sango's cat demon somewhere near the Bone Eaters Well.
"Um, so Miroku, are we going to tell them?" Sango asked, with her hand in his. They had just finished telling each other that they loved each other as well (A/N: this all happened at about the same time Inu Yasha and Kagome told each other that they loved each other)
"Well, I'm not sure. To be honest I don't really want to tell Kagome and Inu Yasha about us yet . B ut Kagome ' s not stupid , and once she finds out she'll tell Inu Yasha . S o really there ' s no point. Let's just let them figure it out on their own anyway " Miroku said with a grin.

Inu Yasha and Kagome were standing at the bottom of the well. "Kagome, there ' s something I want to do before we go see everyone." Inu Yasha said.
"Hmmmm" Kagome said half listening, she was thinking about how happy Inu Yasha had made her feel 15 minutes ago when he told her that he loved her. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she almost didn't hear Inu Yasha say he wanted to kiss her, as Kagome turned to look at him, Inu Yasha leaned in and kissed her. Kagome couldn't believe it.
I t was her very first kiss and she loved it.
"Let me see if there is anyone around” Inu Yasha said as he broke the kiss and jumped up and out of the well. He jumped back into the well, three minutes later, picked her up in his arms and jumped out of the well again.
Inu Yasha ran all the way to the God tree, was about to put Kagome down on the ground to lie down next to her , when he noticed she was asleep. Inu Yasha jumped up into the God Tree and lay down on a branch with her in his arms. He fell asleep after checking that he was holding her right do she wouldn't fall out of the tree.

Inu Yasha woke up hearing voices . Making sure that he still had his arm around Kagome's waist , he looked down to see Miroku and Sango HOLDING HANDS.
Just then Inu Yasha realized Kagome was waking up . Not wanting them to be found together in the tree above Miroku and Sango, Inu Yasha leaned in and kissed Kagome to silence her .

After a minute Inu Yasha noticed that Miroku and Sango had left , but he didn't care and kept kissing Kagome.
After they stopped she asked , "What was that for?"
"Just saying good morning" Inu Yasha said , blushing a little. The he decided to tell her what he had seen, “ I woke up hearing Miroku and Sango talking, I'm not sure what they were saying-"
"What do you mean you don't know...you could hear them I know you could" Kagome interrupted while pointing at his ears.
"I didn't hear what they where saying because I was too shocked seeing them holding hands, Kagome" Inu Yasha said finally.
"They were ...holding hands...?" Kagome asked disbelieving. Inu Yasha nodded.
